In India, the virus created using Kinect for covert tracking user

Kinect for the Xbox 360, or just Kinect, a system of motion sensors and input system data obtained in the OS. Is mainly used for console games. At the moment, sold more than 10 million devices, thanks to which the Kinect got into the Guinness book of records as the most rapidly sold computing device. The virus, named"gawde" by the name of the creator, works on Windows 7 for the latent image capture of the victim or of the situation around the unit Kinect, and send the information received on the server online albums to Picasa.

Rajshekhar Murthy, director of the ISAC (Information Sharing and Anaysis Center), said:

"We believe that in the coming years many windows applications will be developed to work with the Kinect, and this device will acquire a much greater popularity, which will give hackers the ability to espionage for honest users. In the research laboratories of Malcon we support the safety studies of the use of the Kinect and we hope that these examples of vulnerabilities and malicious code will be created only as a Proof-of-Сoncept."

Virus "gawde" even has the opportunity to voice control. PoC will be published at the next conference of MalCon 2011 in Mumbai in India.
